BIZ BUZZ Hotel Adds Suites, Wins Award The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge has debuted six 800-square-foot executive suites with picturesque golf-course views and private balconies. Each suite also features a charger port and Samsung televisions with a 55-inch screen in the living space and a 46- inch screen in the bedroom. The hotel is also the winner of a 2014 Orbitz Best in Stay Award for being a top-rated hotel in Charlotte. The 2014 Orbitz Best In Stay Awards honor nearly 400 top-rated hotels in 75 popular destinations based on reviews by Orbitz customers. Bissell Makes Appointments The Bissell Cos. recently announced promotions and hirings at Bissell and The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge. At Bissell, Kat Carter was promoted to senior graphic designer, while Annie Arntz joined the frm as a graphic designer and Hailey Rorie came aboard as community director. Christina Thigpen was appointed vice president of marketing & communications. Ted Mueller was promoted to chief information offcer and vice president of operations, while Richard Fida was named director of engineering. At The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge, Ashley Nguyen joined as meetings and events manager; Nancy Niehous was named conference sales manager; and Audrey Bell was promoted to director of the front offce. Allergist Opens New Locations Dr. Maeve O'Connor and her clinical team at Allergy Asthma & Immunology Relief in Blakeney have opened new offces at 1523 Elizabeth Ave., Suite 200 in Charlotte and 129 Woodson Ave. in Salisbury, N.C.
