Rotarians Honor Schmoll, Elect Board This painting by Dan Nance is now part of a Battle of Gettysburg app. Dan Nance Painting on iPhone App Hand Held History has launched a new iPhone app, Gettysburg Windows in Time, in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. The app provides users with visual depictions of key battles through overlays of paintings by renowned historical artists, including Ballantyne resident Dan Nance. The new app is available at the Apple App Store at www.handheldhistory.com. Rotary International recently honored Jack Schmoll as a distinguished Rotarian for his service to the Mecklenburg County-South Rotary Club and the community. Schmoll, who operates his own accounting frm, has provided expertise with tax Jack Schmoll accounting and regulations as the club's treasurer. The Meck-South club, which serves the community by providing assistance to youth, has also elected a new board for 2013-2014: Beth Trotter, president; Seth Marlowe, president-elect; Lisa Sperber, sergeant-at-arms; Ben Swoles, secretary; Jack Schmoll, treasurer; Sally-Jane Busk, membership chair; Steve Baune, community service chair; Frank Henry, past president; Daniel Beckman, president-elect nominee and foundation chair; and Joni Stanley, public relations chair. Remi President Wins Award Brent Howison, president of Remi, an equipment maintenance and asset management company, was awarded the Gold Stevie Award as "Executive of the Year" during the 11th Annual American Business Awards. Remi also received the Stevie Award in the Company of the Year category.
