What do you like most about your work? I still can go to the racetrack and be around others that love racing. Do you live in Ballantyne? Yes, for five years. What's your favorite thing to do in Ballantyne? Trying out my new songs at Rush Espresso's open mic night. How do you stay organized? My wife, Morgan, keeps me organized. Life tip: marry a smart woman! Do you have any pets? We have two rescue cats — Johnny and June — named after two of the greatest country music singers. What are you reading now? Just finished "Madonna in a Fur Coat" by Sabahattin Ali. What keeps you up at night? "Perry Mason" on MeTV. How do you spend your free time? I play my guitar every day, always preparing for my next show with singer-songwriter David Childers. What's No. 1 on your bucket list? Ride my motorcycle from Fairbanks, Alaska, to Key West, Florida. What charitable organization is important to you? This year marks our 24th anniversary of the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America. We've raised more than $18 million for children's charities. The last 17 years, all the money has gone to Victory Junction — a camp my family founded to honor my late son, Adam. Children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses receive life-changing camping experiences at no cost. What is something that people would never guess about you?
