WeddingWire Recognizes The Ballantyne The Ballantyne received WeddingWire's 2018 Couples' Choice Award. This award recognizes the hotel as being among the top 5 percent of wedding professionals on WeddingWire, based on reviews from WeddingWire newlyweds. The Whiskey Club of Ballantyne Explore the nuances of whiskies served with small plates in Gallery Restaurant on Fridays, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Events include Woodford Reserve on March 30 and Scotch on April 27. The focus is to be determined for May 25. Cost: $65 per person. St. Patrick's Day Celebrate with corned beef, knackwurst, bockwurst, braised pork belly and pickled cabbage with smoked butter potatoes. Gallery Bar will have Guinness specials. Watch Art in the Making The Art of Tea: During afternoon tea watch a local artist work from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Return for tea on the second date of the month to view the artist finish the work. Artists will be featured on March 10 and 21, April 21 and 25 and May 12 and 23. Art Live: Over cocktails view local artists paint live in their respective styles on select Sundays, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Events include Model as Subject Matter March 18 and Plein Air at South Lawn May 27. The Ballantyne's Gingerbread Lane Sets Record The Ballantyne raised more than $12,000 in December through its signature gingerbread house contest benefiting Levine Children's Hospital, a Children's Miracle Network Hospital. Out of 70 creations, Mary, Anna and Jean Polking won the People's Choice Award for their cathedral entry. The amount raised was a record for the event.
