S O C I A L S E E N Picnic Showcases Chili, Politicians Photos by Ray Sepesy On Oct. 15, a Ballantyne Community Candidates Picnic was held on the South Lawn of The Ballantyne. At this public event, attendees enjoyed free chili and barbecue while participating in a Q&A with mayoral candidates Vi Lyles and Kenny Smith and meeting other political candidates. The event was hosted by Ballantyne Breakfast Club, the Ballantyne Chapter of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, Morrison Family YMCA and Sara's YMCA. City Barbeque and Ted's Montana Grill provided the barbecue. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the Charlotte Fire Department and the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office made the chili.
