Enjoy the Season Visit The Ballantyne A variety of winter events and activities are available at The Ballantyne. Reservations are required for food and beverage occasions. Unless otherwise noted, call 704-248-4100 or go to Gingerbread Lane An enchanting collection of gingerbread creations is on display Dec. 7-27. Attendees may stop by the lobby outside Gallery Restaurant anytime to vote on their favorite house. There is a $1 minimum donation per vote. All proceeds benefit Levine Children's Hospital, a Children's Miracle Network Hospital. Hot Chocolate, Cider and Toddies Warm up with hot choc- olate, cider and toddies at both Veranda and Gallery Bar Dec. 8-27 from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Holiday Tea Holiday Afternoon Tea is served Tuesday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (except Christmas Day) through Dec. 31, with live music in the main lobby. Cost: $49 for adults, $29 for children 5-12. New Year's Eve Overnight Package Welcome 2018 with an overnight stay that includes room, $100 resort credit per room, New Year's Eve Party admis- sion and late checkout of 4 p.m. on departure day. New Year's Eve Party Ring in the new year starting at 8 p.m. in the Carolina Room with DJ, live music, drink spe- cials, party favors and a Cham- pagne toast. Open to guests 21 and over staying at the hotel. Valentine's Day Select from a special three-course prix fixe dinner or limited a la carte menu at Gallery Restaurant Feb. 9-14. Cost: $75 per person. Special Teas A Winter Wonderland Tea will be held 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 17-20, featur- ing a complimentary glass of Champagne. A magical Princess Tea will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays in February, featuring a special menu and decor for royalty. A Very British Tea will be held 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 7-10, honoring the popular series "Downton Abbey." Cost for Special Teas: $45 for adults, $25 for children 5-12 and $10 for 4 and under. Whiskey Club of Ballantyne In 2018, explore the nuances of whiskies served with small plates in Gallery Restaurant on Fridays from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Events include Whiskeys of Ireland on Jan. 26 and Taste of Diageo on Feb. 23. Cost: $65 per person. Christmas Eve, Christmas Dinner Gallery Restaurant will be open both evenings from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The restaurant will feature a prix fixe menu. Christmas Brunch The hotel will offer an elaborate Christmas Brunch Dec. 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with live holiday music.
