Details: Oct. 14-15 Autumn Treasures, Grill'n & Chill'n BBQ Cook-Off 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Downtown Waxhaw Stroll the streets of the historic downtown during this free, two-day annual event. With music filling the air, arts and crafts vendors display their wares on Main Street and youngsters play in the Kids Zone. Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, more than 25 teams will compete for prize money and titles. Details: "Hunter Farm is a tradition for our family in the fall. We started taking the children when they were young, and now they're in middle and high school and it still never disappoints. We pick the largest pumpkins we can find and carve them!" says Lauren Little, mom to teens Kelsea, Brendan and Kathryne.
