THE YOUNGER SET New Principal Named for Polo Ridge Nizy John has been appointed principal at Polo Ridge Elementary School. Prior to this position, she served as assistant principal at Ballantyne Elementary School. Before that, she was assistant principal at David Cox Road Elementary for six years. XPO Opens National Operations Center XPO Logistics Inc. a third-party transportation logistics provider, celebrated the opening of its national operations center at 13777 Ballantyne Corporate Place, Suite 400 in Ballantyne Corporate Park on July 9. The company plans to create more than 300 jobs over three years. "We are continually impressed by the talent pool in this region," says Troy Cooper, senior vice president of finance for the firm. "Now that we have a state-of-the-art facility in Ballantyne to service our customer and carrier relationships, we plan to accelerate our recruitment. We're building an infrastructure to support our company's increasing scale in North America." XPO Logistics offers freight brokerage, freight forwarding and expedited services, and is currently hiring for positions that include carrier procurement, sales, recruiting, training and human resources. Jason Rosselot Anthony Frantilla Trade King Merges with Zecco TradeKing and Zecco, two online brokerages, merged their businesses in June. The new firm has a combined client base of 500,000 accounts with several billion dollars in client assets, says a company release. TradeKing, a nationally licensed online stock and options broker that touts low-cost trading fees, is headquartered in Ballantyne Corporate Park. A pioneer in integrating new financial social media as part of its online equities, options trading and fixed-income trading platform, TradeKing has received several discount broker awards from top industry sources, and in June was rated best in customer service by SmartMoney Magazine for the third consecutive year.
