If it's not, you'll find an excuse." — entrepreneur Ryan Blair B alancing work, family and volunteerism can be super tricky if you don't have an integrated life approach. What that means is learning how best to incor- porate these important facets of your life, so that the overall experience is more enjoyable — and less stressful. Working moms often experience long conference calls, frequent busi- ness trips, multiple family commit- ments and various school activities — which makes volunteering for causes they are passionate about a challenge. So how do they manage? Eat Healthy and Exercise To sustain this fast- paced schedule, you must remember to care for your most important asset: YOU! This means eating healthy (less fatty and fried foods) and finding time to exercise both your body and mind. Perhaps take an early morning class at the gym or a long walk along the greenway — but why not invite a mom from your child's school, a colleague at work or another volunteer you're col- laborating with to join you. You could use this time not only to increase your adrenaline but to learn more about what's going on in the classroom, at work or with creative fundraising strategies. Be the Queen of Multi-Tasking Busy moms have a plethora of "to do" lists, and they are never just one or two items.
