The self-guided tour on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. features eight homes with spectacular indoor and outdoor kitchens — including a historic carriage house as well as the kitchen of Bruce Moffett, chef and owner of Barrington's, Stagioni and Good Food on Montford. Top local chefs and artisanal food vendors will offer tastings, culinary demonstrations and product displays, while music from Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra performers round out the event. Tour tickets are $25 in advance online and at several area outlets. Tickets are $30 at eight tour sites on Oct. 15. The charitable event kicks off at the Taste of the Tour cocktail party on Thursday, Oct. 13, in Ferguson's new South End showroom from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Proceeds from the fundraiser support the Charlotte Symphony, its youth orchestras and the guild's award-winning youth music initiatives.
