One of the first places Alex took Marianne was on a date to a golf course. "It's an interest of both of ours," she explains. "He grew up playing golf with his dad. They would even go on golf trips to different resorts. And I grew up playing golf with my dad and my brother. It's just always been part of both of our lives. It was another thing that we had in common." We thought it would be appropriate, then, to recreate that early romantic magic by sending them to The Golf Club at Ballantyne, where they would up completing nearly a full round before bailing to get dinner. on for days, and we were afraid we weren't going to be able to play," Marianne says. "But I remembered something my grandfather told me about it never raining on a golf course, and sure enough, the sun was out the whole time we were playing."
The couple called the course at The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge the "most beautiful" public course they've ever played. They also said it was difficult and challenging.
