She started taking dance lessons at the Harris YMCA and later at Charlotte Performing Arts Academy. For the past year, she has trained at Charlotte Ballet Academy, which has received national recognition for its innovative instructional programs and entertaining shows. "I like that dance is something that's hard, so if you don't get it right the first time, you have to keep practicing and working to get better," Chloe says. 'Nutcracker' Role That determination has helped her land roles in noted local productions, including Charlotte Ballet's "Nutcracker" in 2013. "Brothers of the Knight" was her first professional tour musical. In putting the show together, Debbie Allen wanted to feature dancers from each of the cities in which the musical would be performed. So she began an exhaustive five-city audition process, which, in addition to Charlotte, included Boston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. In May, Chloe landed the role of one of the "sisters" in the musical, which is a rejuvenated adaption of a classic Brothers Grimm tale, complete with colorful costumes and hip music.
