BALLANTYNE | feature community, one that's generating national attention. "There's a large army of people working towards putting this all together," says Stephanie Druley, SEC Network's vice president of productions. "There are many tentacles working simultaneously. Every ESPN department has played a role." Aug. 14 Launch The network is scheduled to launch Aug. 14, and the 24/7 programming is a sports fan's dream, with more than 1,000 events in its first year. This includes 45 SEC football games, more than 100 men's basketball games, 60 women's basketball games and 75 baseball games. In addition, Druley says the network will feature original studio shows, live events and special content from many of the 14 schools within the 11-state SEC footprint. The SEC-ESPN deal runs though 2034 and is one of the longest broadcast contracts in U.S. sports. In addition to around-the-clock sports coverage, the new SEC Network is creating about 100 new jobs, including some notable on-air talent. ■ continued from page 46 Jesse Palmer Brent Musburger The Ballantyne Corporate Park is home to these ESPN operations. 48 BALLANTYNE MAGAZINE SUMMER 2014 Ball Summer 14 - 2.indd 48 5/22/14 10:59 AM
