BALLANTYNE | wire NEWS CUES Summer Concerts Return Free summer concerts at Blakeney, StoneCrest and Promenade on Providence return for 2014. The Music Series at the Village Green is at Blakeney through the end of September on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Details: The Music at the Green Concert Series featuring live bands at Promenade on Providence runs every Friday and Saturday night until the end of September. Info: Concerts at StoneCrest will be held Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. through September. Info: Waverly is a multi-use development planned for the intersection of Providence and Ardrey Kell roads. Whole Foods to Anchor Waverly Crosland Southeast and Childress Klein Properties have signed a lease agreement with Whole Foods Market for Waverly, their proposed multi-use, pedestrian-friendly development at Providence and Ardrey Kell roads in South Charlotte. The supermarket is slated to open in late 2016. Restaurants and outdoor dining are planned for the remaining retail space. In addition, the project will provide two fve- to six-story buildings offering Class A offce space, separate medical offce buildings, 375 upscale apartments and 150 single- family and town homes. The project is anticipated to be built over the next couple of years. Info: Y Hosts Tri!, Survival Events The 5th Annual Tri! Ballantyne is Saturday, July 12 at the Morrison Family YMCA. The event consists of a 300-yard pool swim, 12.7-mile bike ride and a 5K run through the Ballantyne community. The Y will also stage the Kids Tri! Ballantyne for 6 to 14-year- olds at 2 p.m. on July 12. Registration for both events is at morrison. The community is welcome to attend the events and cheer participants, as well as take part in the Tri! Fest activities from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 3rd Annual C2 Survival Race has been moved to Saturday, Sept. 13 at Camp Thunderbird. Participants test their limits over a three-plus mile, extreme terrain trail with obstacles and challenges. The event benefts the YMCA Annual Campaign.
