Biz Buzz Company news and announcements Alex Wood's Jersey Retired Ardrey Kell High School recently retired the baseball jersey of Alex Wood. Featured in this publication last spring, Wood attended the December ceremony, which was held at an A.K. home basketball game. Head Baseball Coach Hal Bagwell, who coached Wood in high school, presided over the ceremony. Wood currently plays for the Cincinnati Reds. He began his pro career with the Atlanta Braves organization in 2012, and he made the 2017 all-star team and pitched in two World Series with the Los Angeles Dodgers. SCORE Honors Volunteer SCORE Charlotte presented its 2018 Dick O'Brien Award to Ballantyne resident Michael Harris for his 13 years of exemplary volunteer services, mentoring 500 clients in their start-up phase of business or later. Business Bash Promotes Firms The Ballantyne Chapter of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance will hold the 13 th annual Ballantyne Business Bash on Thursday, June 6, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Brixham Tent.
