What do you like most about your work? As a branch manager and a financial adviser, I wear two hats. What I enjoy about both is helping people live and work their life the way they want. Do you live in Ballantyne? Yes. I have lived in Piper Glen Country Club for four years and in Charlotte for 31 years. What did you want to be when you were a kid? A pilot. I loved watching jets fly overhead, especially when they would break the sound barrier. Favorite thing to do in Ballantyne? There is an energy I feel as I ride my bike up North Community House Road, out of the residential area and into the vibrant expanse of the corporate park. Any life-management tips to share? I recently came across a hundred- year-old technique for managing a daily task list, first presented to Charles Schwab of Bethlehem Steel by Ivy Ledbetter Lee. Now, every evening, before I leave work, I write down the six most important things I need to do the next day, then prioritize them. Do you have pets? Yes, a miniature schnauzer named Rigsby Moondog. What are you reading now? "It's Your Ship" by Captain Mike Abrashoff. What's No. 1 on your bucket list? To rent a class A motorhome that can pull a Jeep Wrangler for a 60-day road trip around the country. What charitable organization is important to you? Kids First of the Carolinas. It is difficult for children to excel if they lack joy and nourishment, and the primary goal of Kids First is to fill that need.
