Anakeesta (Cherokee for "place of the balsams") has created a memorial forest walk and garden in tribute to the 2016 Gatlinburg wildfires that devastated much of the area. Two ziplines and 16 connected hanging bridges take visitors high within Gatlinburg's tree canopy. The name of this distillery harkens back to the era of mountain stills in the backwoods. The adventure begins with a 15-minute "chondola" ride — part chairlift/part gondola — whisking visitors up to Village with its shops, dining and the mountain's main attractions. The Tree Canopy Walk takes intrepid guests into the treetops and offers 14 viewing platforms.
