M A T T H E W CATHOLIC SCHOOL Ballantyne Colors the Park The Ballantyne community collected more than 100,000 school supplies for Classroom Central during its 11 th Annual Color the Park School Supplies Drive Aug. 1-10. Classroom Central, a free store for teachers, supports children across six school districts that have 192 high-poverty schools. Teens Support Legal Aid Center The Teen Advisory Committee of the south Charlotte chap- ter of Jack and Jill of America recently presented a check for $2,260 to the North Carolina Center on Actual Innocence (NCCAI) to help provide legal services to inmates claiming factual innocence. Committee members include chair Nia Alexan- der; co-chairs Bree Shipp, Jasmine Pierce and Jillian Dees; secretary Emory Brinson; and fundraiser organizers Sahara Willis and Kalia Workman. Jack and Jill of America is an organization of mothers with children ages 2 to 19 dedicated to nurturing future African- American leaders. Info: jackandjillinc.org.
