Gatsby Gala Raises $125,000 The Second Annual Great Gatsby Party raised $125,000 in late May to support Hands for Holly, a nonprofit founded by Ballantyne residents Bill and Christine Wade in honor of their daughter, Holly, who passed away from a brain tumor. The or- ganization provides financial assistance for families to be with their critically ill or injured child in the hospital. Info/donate: www.handsforholly.org. Cole Classic Brings in $187,000 The 29 th Annual Julie Cole Charity Golf Classic raised $187,000 for the Blanchard Valley Health Association in Findlay, Ohio. Since its inception, the tournament has raised over $2.9 million. Cole, a managing partner at Ballantyne Golf Academy, is a former LPGA touring pro. Foundations Host Charity Ball The Isabella Santos Foundation and Receptions for Research: The Greg Olsen Foundation will co-host the Pumpkin Charity Ball on Friday, Oct. 26, at The Ballantyne from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Both foundations raise funds to boost treatment options for pediatric patients at Atrium Health's Levine Children's Hospital. Scarves Benefit Cancer Cure Scarves designed by five female artists to honor the strength of women who have battled breast cancer are available this fall at Talbots stores, including the one in Blakeney, and at www.talbots.com.
