W I R E At a Glance What's happening in and around Ballantyne Enjoy Free Autumn Events Q ueen City Home Store and Ballantyne Magazine are hosting a fall event on Friday, Oct. 12, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Enjoy a live cooking demo of Gallery Restaurant's popular butternut squash soup by Executive Chef Garrett Merck, browse the store and help celebrate the fall issue of the magazine. The event will be held at 11501 Carolina Place Parkway. Details: Also, Northwood Office invites the Ballantyne community to attend the following free events at Brixham Tent this fall. Ballantyne Bootcamp: The training session will be held Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. from Sept. 6 through Oct. 18. The event is free and open to the public. Olde Mecklenburg Brewery will be on- site each week serving local beers. Training on Tap: Sara's YMCA joins Northwood in sponsoring Training on Tap Thursday, Oct. 18. Activities feature a social from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. with music, food, cornhole, beer and wine. There are also drop-in fitness options of yoga, a 1-mile run, cardio dance and the Ballantyne Bootcamp. Ballantyne Wellness Fair: The fair will be held 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26. The event offers 50 wellness vendors, music, food-truck fare, a pumpkin-carving contest and giveaways.
