Do you live in Ballantyne? We have lived in and around Ballantyne for about 10 years. What did you want to be when you were a kid? A K-9 police officer. What's your favorite thing to do in Ballantyne? I love to run into kids that have grown up through the Y. It is cool to see "Y kids" working in Blakeney or at Harris Teeter, home from college, and even graduates, moving back and working for companies right here in Ballantyne Corporate Park. Do you have any pets? Two dogs: Lola, a 10-year- old shepherd/retriever mix, and Emma, our new Brittany spaniel puppy. What do you eat for breakfast? Two eggs scrambled every day with as much coffee as I can get my hands on. What are you reading now? "Leadership and Self-Deception: Getting Out of the Box" by The Arbinger Institute. How do you spend your free time? My wife, Jessica, and I love to be in nature whenever possible, which is always an undertaking with our 6- and 3-year-old daughters. Usually, we find ourselves enjoying tea parties, princess dress- up and a lot of laughter. What's No. 1 on your bucket list? I have a post-retirement list that includes experiential jobs like being a mall Santa (with a real beard), driving a city bus and working in a school cafeteria. Jessica has different ideas about how we will spend retirement. What would people never guess about you? I have a strong and unexplainable disdain for mustard.
