Go old school and make a memory
book with special photos from the
past 18 years. Be sure to include the
ones from the first day at college!
"My No. 1 piece of advice is
to remember you have prepared
your child for this moment," says
Downey, the dean at Queens.
Going away to college is the
symbolic moment for growing up.
Camille Davidson knows that
she and her husband have been
working toward this for their son's
entire life. "I have to step back and
say, 'We have prepared you for this.
You know who you are,'" she says.
"I have taught him to make good
choices. We have given him the
foundation. As a mom, I just have
to remind myself over and over."
