BALLANTYNE | faces JENN SNYDER Birthplace: Adopted from Fort Wayne, Ind.; grew up near Akron, Ohio. Job: Executive Director, Hood Hargett Breakfast Club. What do you like most about your job? I love my job! I'm fortunate to help Charlotte business leaders connect with one another and provide opportunities for our organization to make a real impact in the community. In addition, I plan more than 40 events annually with such prominent speakers as Bob Woodruff, Mark Cuban and Elizabeth Smart. What's your guilty pleasure? Shoe shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City. The shoe department is so big it has its own ZIP code! It's where I channel my inner Carrie Bradshaw. Do you live in Ballantyne? I've lived in Ballantyne for 16 years. What is your favorite Ballantyne-area restaurant? This is a hard question; I'm such a foodie. I'd say it's a toss-up between 131 Main and Firebirds at StoneCrest, but I'll never say no to the guacamole at Cantina 1511. What is your favorite outdoor activity? Nothing brings me more joy than playing with my sweet labradoodle, Bentlee. Describe your dream vacation. The four on my must-see list are Hawaii, an Alaskan cruise, Paris and Italy. What is your favorite news source? I'm such a news junkie. For local news, I turn to WCNC and WBT Radio. For national news, I'm a big fan of my friend Bob Woodruff on ABC World News. I would rather be caught dead than wear _____. Pantyhose or a Michigan Wolverines jersey — never, ever, ever! What charitable organizations are you involved with? I'm especially proud of the Liz Murray Scholarship Fund that I oversee for the breakfast club. I'm also involved with Classroom Central, Second Harvest Food Bank, American Red Cross, March Forth With Hope Foundation and many other meaningful nonprofits. What is a hidden gem in the Ballantyne area? My trainer, Nick Bucci, at The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge is the best money I spend each week. Share something that someone would never guess about you. I have three tattoos. 32 BALLANTYNE MAGAZINE WINTER 2016-2017
