"Located in an area of Charlotte that a lot of people are moving to, Sara's Y can be where people gather, get the exposure to the Y and fnd out what's going on," he says. "We think it can be a catalyst of bringing new people, new talent and new skills to the Y and to the greater community." While goals for the facility are set and programs and equipment are in place, supporters say the Y's character will ultimately be shaped by those who embrace the facility. "You can always build the brick walls, but you don't know what the character of the inside is going to be until you get going with it," says board member Huss.
