What is your favorite Ballantyne-area restaurant? Ilios Noche or Blue Taj depending on the day. What is your favorite outdoor activity? Working on projects in my yard, in particular tending my koi pond. Describe your dream vacation. Location is less important than experience. Let me experience "new"— new cultures, new foods, new hidden gems, new information, new stories to share. What would your theme song be for walking into a room? "Forever Young" by Bob Dylan. It's also the song I danced to with my mom at my wedding (sung by Joan Baez, mom's choice). What is your favorite news source? I run from most major news sources in an attempt not to be pulled into things that don't truly affect me and my family. Boutique local interest papers get my vote. I would rather be caught dead than wear _____. Cheap shoes. What charitable organizations are you involved with? I am a board member for Junior Achievement because it inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy. I am also active with Blumenthal Performing Arts. Give me opera, rap, country, African tribal music or some guy playing the spoons and I will joyfully listen to it! j SUMMER 2016 BALLANTYNE MAGAZINE 31
