faces | BALLANTYNE CHRIS HOBART Birthplace: Corona, Calif. Job: CEO and Founder, Hobart Financial Group. What do you like most about your job? Working with a team of great people to help guide our great clients to a solid fnancial future. What's your guilty pleasure? Anything chocolate and peanut butter! Do you live in Ballantyne? Yes. What is your favorite Ballantyne-area restaurant? Ilios Noche or Blue Taj depending on the day. What is your favorite outdoor activity? Working on projects in my yard, in particular tending my koi pond. Describe your dream vacation. Location is less important than experience. Let me experience "new"— new cultures, new foods, new hidden gems, new information, new stories to share. What would your theme song be for walking into a room? "Forever Young" by Bob Dylan. It's also the song I danced to with my mom at my wedding (sung by Joan Baez, mom's choice). What is your favorite news source? I run from most major news sources in an attempt not to be pulled into things that don't truly affect me and my family. Boutique local interest papers get my vote. I would rather be caught dead than wear _____. Cheap shoes. What charitable organizations are you involved with? I am a board member for Junior Achievement because it inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy. I am also active with Blumenthal Performing Arts. What is your biggest pet peeve? Being late. Share something that someone would never guess about you. I have any and all forms of music on my phone and love to mix it up. Give me opera, rap, country, African tribal music or some guy playing the spoons and I will joyfully listen to it! j SUMMER 2016 BALLANTYNE MAGAZINE 31
