Tastings Gallery Restaurant offers weekly tastings on Fridays beginning at 6:30 p.m. with complementing light bites. The frst and third Fridays of the month usually feature a type of wine and the second Friday of the month focuses on cocktails. Cost varies: $25-$40 per person. Whiskey Club Explore nuances of whiskies served with complementing small plates at Gallery Restaurant's Whiskey Club of Ballantyne, monthly on Fridays, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Upcoming events feature Jefferson's Distillery on June 24, Laphroaig Distillery on July 29 and Glenmorangie on Aug. 26. Cost: $50 per person. Enhanced South Lawn Venue The Ballantyne has enhanced its South Lawn. The expansion and elevated design at the garden-inspired venue offer versatile photography options and leisure spaces, sculpture, pergola and event space. The 4,237-square-foot area can now accommodate 400 for theater seating, 350 for receptions and 250 for dinner. The Golf Club at Ballantyne Enjoy special offers this summer, and remember to mention them when reserving your tee times at 704-248-4383. • Father's Day: On June 19, dads play for half price with one paid round of golf at the daily rate. • National Family Golf Month: Junior players receive half off the regular golf rate throughout July. • Community Service Providers Week: Teachers, police and frefghters play 18 holes free with one paid round from Sunday, July 31, through Saturday, Aug. 6. Golfers must present valid employment identifcation on arrival. Afternoon Teas Afternoon Tea is served Wednesday through Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. year-round. The following special tea will be available this season during Afternoon Tea: "Summer in the Carolinas Tea," July 20-23. Cost: $36 for adults and $18 for junior patrons (plus tax and gratuity). Summer Shredder Bootcamp Led by personal trainers Nick Bucci and Beth Storlie, a four-week bootcamp will be held July 12 to Aug. 6. Attend three hourly sessions per week on Tuesday and Thursday at 6 a.m. and Saturday at 7:30 a.m. Cost is $150, and all ftness levels are welcome. Advance registration and payment are required.
