BALLANTYNE | social seen 1 2 4 5 3 6 9 10 12 11 8 7 BALLANTYNE MAGAZINE 75 WINTER 2015-2016 DARLA MOORE ADDRESSES WOMEN LEADERS Businesswoman and nonproft leader Darla Moore was the keynote speaker at the kickoff dinner for the National Leadership Forum sponsored by the Women's Collective Giving Grantmakers Network (WCGN). The Charlotte Women's Impact Fund, a WCGN member organization, hosted the Oct. 15-17 forum at The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge. Moore, former vice president of private investment company Rainwater Inc., is founder and chair of both the Palmetto Institute, a nonproft think tank aimed at bolstering per capita income in South Carolina, and the Charleston Parks Conservancy. A nationally recognized authority on women's philanthropic leadership, WCGN is an umbrella group for collective giving funds across the nation. Its members include 45 such grant-making organizations in 23 states with more than 10,000 women members.
